The Institute of Biomaterial Science in Teltow of the Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht and Berlin-Brandenburg-Centre for Regenerative Therapies (BCRT) invite applications for a Senior Postdoc (m/f) micro/nano science and technology. This is initially a 2-years fixed-term contract.
Together with a team of qualified co-workers you will be responsible for research projects that are focusing on elucidating the structure-property relations of polymer-based shape bodies or devices comprising micro- or nanostructural features as well as micro/nanoparticles, micro/nanofibers and nanocomposites. This includes on the one hand side research in processing technologies e.g. nanoimprint lithography, spraying techniques, electrospinning, or foaming processes as well as the related analytical techniques for (local) chemical analysis, thermomechanical characterization and morphological analysis by application of microscopy and scattering techniques.
You have successfully completed a university degree with a PhD in the field of Material Science, Physics, Chemistry or a relating Engineering Field and an outstanding expertise in macromolecular chemistry, polymer physics, micro- and nano engineering as well as a profund knowledge on analytical methods for investigating the structure-property relations of polymer-based materials, which is documented by scientific publications. You have several years of experience in field of micro/nano science and technology. You are experienced in the supervision and guidance of qualified employees (scientists, students and technicians) and raising third-party funding.
You have excellent organizational and superior communication skills. You are speaking German or English fluently, with a working knowledge of the other. Applicants with a strong interest in fundamental research are especially welcome. You will work in an interdisciplinary team with chemists, material scientists, engineers, biologists, and scientists of other disciplines in the field of regenerative medicine.
