Assistant Professor of Developmental Biology

Position Description: Tenure-track position in
the Biology Department, Eastern Connecticut State University, starting Fall 2012. Requirements
include: Ph.D., expertise in invertebrate or nonmammalian developmental biology, cellular/molecular
techniques, and confocal microscopy. Competence in neurobiology is an advantage. Postdoctoral
experience is preferred. Applicants must demonstrate an aptitude for teaching undergraduates and
willingness to develop a research program involving undergraduates. Teaching responsibilities will
include lecture/lab courses in developmental biology and cell biology for biology majors, and
participation in the university’s Liberal Arts Core Curriculum. Additional expectations include
academic advisement, service to the university, and continued professional development.
