The research group is dedicated to the investigation and understanding of the molecular basis of malignant lymphoma and developing new diagnostic and predictive markers.
Responsibilities include the morphological assessment of lymphoma biopsy specimens for research purposes, interpretation of immunohistochemical data and molecular cytogenetic data related to lymphoma, constructing tissue microarrays and interpreting and developing novel immunohistochemical assays related to lymphoma biomarker development. Skills to both perform and interpret Fluorescence in-situ hybridization (FISH) assays are essential.
Similarly, prior experience with quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR), rapid amplification of cDNA ends (RACE) and related molecular techniques is required. The incumbent will organize the pathology materials for large cohorts of specific lymphoma subtypes for the building of TMAs and extraction of nucleic acids for molecular investigation. Knowledge of database design and analysis, as well as command of statistical analysis tools will be an asset.
A degree in either Anatomic Pathology or Hematopathology with a focused interest or period of training in lymphoma diagnosis is required. Fellowship training in lymphoid cancer diagnostics would be an asset.
