Department of Chemistry invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant
Professor level beginning August 15, 2012. This position requires proficiency in English, excellent
communication skills, and a commitment to excellence in teaching and professional/scholarly
activities appropriate to an undergraduate department.
Faculty responsibilities include teaching 24-credit hours per academic year. Teaching
responsibilities will include the year-long sequence in organic chemistry, freshman chemistry for
majors, and freshman chemistry for allied health students, all both lecture and lab. All courses may
be day or evening. Additional responsibilities will include professional/scholarly activities and
department, college, university, and community service.
Job Description: On a full-time basis Faculty Members principal academic functions include teaching,
discovering, creating and reporting knowledge.
Min. Quals.: Appropriate academic degree related to department specifications and prior academic
experience.
Ideal Qualifications: A Ph.D. in organic chemistry and college-level teaching experience in organic
chemistry. Research interests related to chemical education. Experience teaching organic chemistry
lecture and lab.
