• Work with consulting teams on commercial, regulatory, and policy-focused projects in both wholesale and retail energy markets
• Apply microeconomic and econometric analysis to market design, pricing, supply and demand forecasting, and policy evaluation
• Examine economic impacts of energy policy, investments, and energy cost and price changes
• Develop techniques to efficiently address quantitative problems and to contribute to the continuing enhancement of the firm’s market analytics capability
• Conduct independent economic research concerning electricity and natural gas market design and policy developments

• Expert knowledge of economic methods
• Strong quantitative analytic skills
• Ability to communicate both in writing and orally
• Ability to conceptualize a problem and build an effective evaluation framework
• The ability to coordinate with multi-disciplinary staff in order to integrate economic analysis
• Utilize the results of economic research and analysis in the preparation of integrated work product
• Baseline technical knowledge of electricity markets, energy storage, renewable and conventional power generation technologies, as well as customer-sited systems
• Knowledge of energy analysis and planning tools; ability to think in terms of systems
• High proficiency with Excel
modeling experience: e.g., Matlab, R, Stata, EViews, Gauss, or SAS
• Attention to detail and the ability to execute tasks on time
• Ability to learn quickly, fill knowledge gaps, and innovate
• Ability to work closely in small teams and collaborate effectively

• Ph.D. with specializations in Industrial Organization, Public Finance, or Macroeconomics. A closely related field (e.g., Operations Research) with relevant research and professional experience will be considered
• Minimum of three years of experience with the electric or natural gas industry, consulting, government, or academic research
