Located in Central Florida, Lake-Sumter Community College is a multi-campus institution annually
serving over 7,500 students. Our main campus is located in Leesburg, which is less than an hour
north of Orlando. We also have additional campuses in Clermont and Sumterville.
This is a 9 month (163 day) full-time faculty position starting August 2012. The position will work
primarily at the Leesburg campus but will travel to additional campuses as needed.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must possess a
Master’s Degree from an accredited institution, including 18 graduate semester hours of
prefix-specific coursework in Mathematics. Transcripts are required.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT: Previous college-level
teaching experience preferred. Strong communications and teamwork skills required. Special
consideration will be given to those applicants that have a desire or experience teaching the
Calculus sequence.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: Teaches a minimum of 15 credit hours
per Fall and Spring terms. The faculty member will be available at least every other year to teach
two courses in a summer session. Works with adjunct instructors to ensure consistency in and quality
of instruction. Works primarily on the Leesburg campus, but may be required to teach at other
campuses as the need arises.
