The University of Central Lancashire excels in the provision of healthcare programmes. The School of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences is part of the College of Clinical and Biomedical Sciences which provides, amongst others, programmes in Pharmacy, , Medicine, Healthcare Science, Biomedical Science and Medical Sciences. This newly-created College has provided an ideal opportunity to re-structure the School into four thematic areas: Pharmacy Practice; Pharmacology/Physiology; /Pharmaceutics; and Biosciences.

We are looking for applicants who hold a PhD, ideally in the areas of pharmaceutics, drug delivery, pharmaceutical sciences and sciences and research experience in Pharmaceutics/Pharmaceutical Sciences/ or a related area. The successful applicant will work with academic colleagues to conduct research and publish in these areas. You will join an enthusiastic team working in state-of-the art teaching and research facilities, with excellent opportunities to develop research collaborations with academic colleagues in the School, College and University as well as with partners in industry and practice.

The project involves taste-masking of an oil bioactive and the suitable candidate will help translate the technology into a clinically acceptable product for patent filing in the coming 12 months. A good research trajectory is desirable including potential to publish in top-quality, peer-reviewed journals.

The successful applicant will have a broad knowledge of Pharmaceutical Sciences and competence in a variety of relevant research techniques. Demonstrable skills in literature searching and data compilation and analysis using required software and an ability to work with HPLC, DSC, TGA, XRD are essential.

Excellent oral and written communication skills and good team working skills are essential. The successful applicant will also be expected to play an active part in the research group for training and drafting SOPs for the necessary patent application.
