We are seeking a talented Medical , or Epidemiologist with excellent quantitative skills, to join the MRC Integrative Unit within the School of Social and Community Medicine, University of Bristol. The post is full time until 31st March 2018. The post holder will analyse data from high-quality cohort studies using advanced statistical techniques for longitudinal and/or causal modelling, and write up the results for publication. The exact research to be undertaken could, in consultation with the line manager, be tailored to the specific interests and experience of the successful candidate. The successful applicant will have a PhD (or equivalent research experience) in or a related quantitative discipline and a track record of research, including the application of sophisticated statistical methods, published in high impact journals. This post provides a valuable opportunity to gain skills in advanced statistical modelling techniques, including the analysis of complex longitudinal data. Analysis will be carried out using data from a well-characterised cohort: the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children (ALSPAC). Opportunities for continued training and development are available through short courses run by the School and through the University of Bristol’s staff development programme.
