Medical Laboratory Scientist – Hematology/Flow Cytometry

Job Summary: Performs both routine and complex lab analyses in Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis and Flow Cytometry. Performs all aspects of leukemia-lymphoma immunophenotyping including sample acquisition, preparation, staining, testing and data analysis. Assists with the development, optimization and validation of all aspects of flow cytometry.

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or other from an accredited college.

Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science from an accredited college.

Required License: ASCP Certification as a Medical Laboratory or registry eligible (must become within 1 year after employment). If certified in 2004 or after, recertification required every 3 years. If hired before 2004, ASCP, HEW, AMT or NCA certification accepted.

Preferred License: Certification by ASCP as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)

Required Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in flow cytometry to include leukemia-lymphoma immunophenotyping.

Preferred Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in Hematology and Coagulation plus 5 years of experience in flow cytometry to include leukemia-lymphoma immunophenotyping.
