The Northwest Institute for BioHealth Informatics (NIBHI) has a vacancy for a Research Fellow in the sematic interoperability of clinical and biomedical knowledge to lead the University of Manchester research on the EU funded SemanticHealthNet project. SemanticHealthNet will capture the needs for evidence-based, patient-centred integrated care and for public health, encapsulating existing European consensus in the management of chronic heart failure and cardiovascular prevention. Experts in EHR architectures, clinical data structures, terminologies and ontology will combine, tailor and pilot their best-of-breed resources in response to the needs articulated by clinicians and public health physicians.

You will have significant, relevant and up to date knowledge in terminologies and ontologies of clinical and biomedical knowledge; and be talented, self-motivated independent researcher with the ability to work in a multi-national team who set for themselves the highest professional standards. This is an excellent opportunity to utilise your skills, knowledge and experience to make a significant contribution to improving the health of the population and the efficacy of the health services on a pan-EU basis. You will be based at the University of Manchester, and required to travel to meetings with project partners at various European locations.
