Salary: £30,870 – £35,789 per annum
(Full-time, Fixed-term for 3 years)
The Cochrane Infectious Diseases Group seeks a Lecturer in research synthesis to develop further our influential work in tropical diseases.
The post holder will contribute to the Cochrane Infectious Diseases Group by actively developing, managing and assuring the quality of a portfolio of Cochrane reviews. You will be expected to extend research and funding base by working with colleagues and partners to identify funds for additional reviews in areas of expertise and interest. You will also contribute to LSTM’s teaching portfolio in public health and providing supervision of postgraduates. You will work with a highly skilled team in Liverpool and partners in India, China, and various countries in Africa.
The post will require the following skills and experience:
- Completing Systematic Reviews of effects as a lead author, preferably a Cochrane review
- Completing Systematic reviews relevant to low-income countries
- Ability to organise own time and deal with multiple deadlines and priorities.
A Postgraduate qualification in epidemiology or related quantitative area including a research skills component are pre-requisites of the role, as is the ability to apply research skills relevant to international health systems, communicate and work productively with both academic and non-academic members of staff. A PhD in a health systems topic would be an advantage. Medical graduates may also apply.
The post will require some overseas travel, and is based in Liverpool.
